Admirable Woman

A woman who has adjusted to many things in life
and overcome many more,
her face is full of strength.
She has, we can see, wit and faith of a kind that keep her eyes lit,
and full of interest and expectancy.
She is, in a word, a beautiful woman.
Her bearing is perhaps most like the noble bearing,
of the women of the Hereros of Southwest Africa -
rather as if she imagines that
as she walks she still bears a basket
or a vessel upon her head.-ACT 1, scene 1.

Lorraine Hansberry describes Mama in this manner to show the struggle she faced and how she can still walk with her head held high. The American Dream. Mama puts forth a resounding effort to keep her life and the life of her loved ones on track. An admirable trait and an admirable woman to say the least. Don't you agree?

Mama is indeed a wonderful woman... an admirable one as you say. I love my family dearly, i just wish they'd listen to me a lil more sometimes. However, I would lyk to apologize to you mama and to the rest of my family for hardly ever listening to ya'll, being so damn stubborn and only focusin on my own self. I guess that's another trait I could say you have mama... being able to see the best in me even at my worst times. Thank ya.

Mama is an admirable woman indeed! She does walk with her head held high, while still with her future dreams, (the American dream!) for her and her family in mind despite all of the obstacles she has and still tries to overcome. She still works hard-- a woman who never gives up! Even after the death of her loving husband, she stands strong in the center of the family, pulling everyone together.

Mama.
So strong and loyal. I wouldn't mind having a woman like that. A woman with full of dreams and faith. It is disappointing to know that her only son who just don't understand what she had to go through. Arguments and attitudes. She can't go through with that through out her whole life. It's just too much. However, knowing that she is still on her feet proven how admirable she is. Mama, I admire you.

Mama is definitely a woman to be admired. She has embraced the role of matriarch in her family completely. She has had a difficult life, working hard to provide for her children, maybe sacrificing her own desires for betterment of her family. Some would find this role overwhelming, but Mama thrives in it. She has found the inner strength to achieve her goals, an inner strength that some women just do not have. Very inspiring.
