IMMIGRANTS AND MORALITY
I wonder if Americans who judge others based on their heritage, nationality, or status of residency have any idea of the damage they are causing to others. I am most certainly positive that those who judge are very much insecure with themselves and their morals. I certainly do not like to be judged and like to keep the peace between people. If people do not like the way I describe stories or act then I feel very ashamed and do not wished to be blamed for any harm doing. I do not like to upset people and judging Immigrants is a horrible thing. Immigrants work really hard in order to keep their lives in balance and on track just like the rest of the USA citizens. I do feel bad if my words have upset anyone but I would take the blame if what I do write causes controversies, that is not my intent. As working under the great Lord himself, I believe that everyone is created equal and should be treated equally.

The poem "Immigrants" by Pat Mora was very interesting to read. It was bringing up all of the stereotypes of America. One example is hot dogs which is a classic American food. Another is the blonde hair and blue eyes because I feel like that is what the "ideal" is in America. It must be hard to constantly be trying to fit in and look and act "American." It must also be hard for parents because they want their children to fit in yet they want their child to also know and remember their heritage.
i think this poem is more towards the american people rather then the immmigrants. in the poem when they mention the blonde hair and blue eyes, thats not what the immigrants think, thats what the american people think that you need those to be an american. and thats how they picture their children,
Growing up in a poor family i can relate to what you are saying. Being judged by your financial status or the neighborhood you live in is terrible. I learned that the hard way. It is important to have strong minded family around you during these times. Immigrants to the United States face harsh reality. People are going to judge you by the things you don't have or by the way you don't look.
